Editorial Policy

This page explains how Daily Breaking Updates researches, writes, checks, corrects and updates the stories we publish. We want readers to know exactly who is behind the site and how our content is made.

Our mission

Our mission is to deliver accurate, timely and relevant information in a clear, reader-friendly format. We cover breaking news, health, finance, technology, AI, entertainment, sports and trending topics, and we aim to explain the key facts quickly without unnecessary complexity.

Who writes for us

Daily Breaking Updates is run by Sam, the founder, editor and sole author of the site. Sam is an AEO, GEO and EEAT content writer based in New York, USA, who writes content for many brands and also writes AI content.

We do not currently publish guest posts or work from outside contributors. If that changes, contributor names and bios will be shown on their articles, and they will follow this policy.

Sourcing and fact-checking

We rely on primary sources wherever they exist. That means going to the original source of a fact rather than repeating what other websites say about it. Our main sources include:

  • Government agencies and official bodies, such as the CDC, NIH and the Social Security Administration (SSA)
  • Official company announcements, press releases and filings
  • Published research and reports from recognized institutions
  • Established news organizations, credited by name and linked, when they first reported a fact

Key facts, figures, dates and quotes are checked against these sources before publishing. Sources are cited and linked inside the article so readers can verify them. When something cannot be confirmed, we either leave it out or clearly say that it is unconfirmed or reported by a specific outlet.

Health and finance content

Health and money stories can affect real decisions, so we hold them to a stricter standard. Our author is a content writer, not a doctor or a licensed financial adviser, and we never present him as one. Health articles are based on guidance from public health agencies such as the CDC and NIH and on published research. Finance articles, such as those on Social Security, rely on official sources such as the SSA and on company filings.

All health and finance content is for general information only. It is not medical, financial, legal or tax advice. Please talk to a qualified doctor or adviser before making decisions about your health or money. Our Disclaimer has more detail.

Corrections policy

We work hard to get things right, but mistakes can happen. If you spot an error, please tell us through our Contact Us page. Include the article link, what you believe is wrong and, if possible, a source that shows the correct information.

We review every correction request. When we confirm an error, we fix it promptly. If the correction changes a fact, figure or meaning in the story, we add a note to the article with an “Updated” line that gives the date and briefly explains what was changed. Small fixes such as spelling or formatting are made without a note.

Updates to stories

Breaking news develops quickly, and some details change after a story is first published. When new information becomes available, we update the article and show the new date with an “Updated” or “Last updated” line. We also review older evergreen articles, especially health and finance guides, and refresh them when official figures or guidance change.

AI and tools use

Research and drafting tools, including AI tools, may assist with tasks such as gathering background information, outlining or drafting. These tools do not decide what we publish. Every post is reviewed, fact-checked against its sources, edited and published by Sam, who takes responsibility for its content.

Independence and advertising

Our editorial decisions are made independently. Advertisers and other outside parties do not decide which stories we cover or what those stories say. If an article is ever sponsored or contains paid placements, it will be clearly labeled. Links to external websites are provided for reference and verification and do not mean we endorse those sites.
